What's it all about?
The story so far:
Borrow A Classic was officially launched on the 18th of January 2025 from the fantastic success that was the Classic Car Loan Project. Founded by Bob Wilkinson nearly 10 years ago, its mission to introduce younger drivers to classic cars in a safe and accessible way. Everyone said Bob was mad, (and most still do to be fair), but here we are nearly a decade later with an incredibly successful model that has seen over 100 drivers take part, all completely free of charge. Mad? Yes. A true visionary? Absolutely!
So can I really have a car for a year for free?
Well, in short yes. In long, also yes. We are privileged to work with some awesome owners and clubs who share our vision. We work closely with not only them, but our sponsors too who make this possible. The only thing you will have to pay for is Insurance (which is surprisingly affordable thanks to our sponsor Peter James Insurance), fuel and on cars that need it, tax. We strive to encourage the younger generation to get into classics, so the most successful candidates are between 21-45. All applications are considered on merit, older applicants will still be considered where the loan benefits a budding enthusiast, such as a younger family member.

We agree, it does. Were it not for the hard work of the team, it wouldn't be true either. Getting our message out there and having people believe it has always been a challenge, no matter how hard Bob grabs your shoulder for a chat!
